Vision

Forming a society in which youth discover their potential and turn their challenges into opportunities and empower the youth who may be marginalized to succeed in life by living wisely despite of what may appear to growing insecurities.

 Mission

To be a body and collective voice of the youth in Uganda to effectively implement polices regarding the rights of the youth and reflect positive living in the society with all opportunities utilized.

 Objectives

The general objective of the Youth Rescue Outreach (TYRO) is to;

“To help the youth discover their potential, help the youth turn their challenges into opportunities, and to show youth that by living wisely they can succeed in life despite what may appear to be growing insecurities”. It does this through advocacy/partnership development, networking and information exchange.

The specific objectives of TYRO are:

  1. To sensitize the youth concerning HIV/AIDS.
  2. To emphasize the important role of savings, and credit can play.
  3. To equip the youth generation with leadership skills in all life aspects.
  4. To describe youth employment avenues and opportunities. 
  5. To sensitize the youth about gender and domestic violence.
  6. To encourage community volunteerism.
  7. To establish and maintain links with other NGOs operating at national or at district level in Uganda and even international organizations, in order to realize the objectives stated above.  

Organizational Target Groups

The organization targets and focus areas are to reach out to the youth in high institutions of learning where they can be transformed to make better African citizens. Institution are:

1. Universities.

2.Colleges/Vocational institutions.

3.Secondary schools/High schools.

4.Vulnerable groups of Youth in Villages

Methods used

1.Formation of the awareness groups around the areas of interest.

2.Work with mass media to sensitize the public especially the treatment of HIV/AIDS ie using documents, discussion and presentations on HIV/AIDS.

3.Use Conferences, Seminars and other special educational events to engage and empower the Youth to become even more productive part of Uganda/African Society

Expected outcomes

  • Self reliant youth in Uganda and Africa at large, who discover and utilize all opportunities that befall them.
  • Youth who are informed on issues concerning the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Uganda and other African countries.
  • A generation with leadership skills and democratic leadership in all various leadership levels in Uganda.
  • A well informed society with quality in spheres of life without any stereotypes and domestic violence in Uganda.
  • An informed society on the roles of savings and credit facilities and society that appreciate these roles.

  • To be responsive and guide on issues of the youth through its members.
